Hello Everyone,

I appreciate your patience in waiting to hear about what my plans and procedures are regarding opening. First, let me tell you what I am doing to make sure that both you and I stay as safe and healthy as possible when we return to the salon. Please read through to the end. There is IMPORTANT information that effects EVERYONE… including my PLANNED REOPENING DATE and procedure for how to get in.

New Procedures


I will be taking your temperature before you enter the salon with a no touch thermometer. If your temp is above 99 degrees, you will have to reschedule your appointment. I will also be screening for other Covid symptoms. These include, but are not limited to, coughing, sneezing, pink eye, fever, loss of smell/taste, etc…


I realize this is an inconvenience, especially during allergy and flu seasons. I ask you to remember that this is the state law and serves as a way to protect you, the other clients, myself and all of our families. We will reschedule you for two weeks out, or as soon as possible. Please be patient with me. I will have limited availability because of the new booking and sanitation guidelines that I must adhere to to keep us all as safe as possible.

  • All guests, as well as myself, are required to wear a mask at all times. Please bring your own mask. If you do not have a mask, I will have disposable masks available. 

  • You will be asked to wash your hands or sanitize them upon entering my room. Hand wash and hand sanitizer will be provided.

  • You MUST wait in your car until I am ready for you to come in. All doors will be locked. I am asking everyone to text me when you get to the parking lot and I will let you know when I am ready for you.That is why it is ESSENTIAL that I have your correct cell phone number. I hate to state the obvious, but to cover all bases I feel that I have to say that your home phone number will not work. If I have that on file, please update me with your current cell phone number.

  • I will be wearing gloves and protective glasses at all times. I will be changing my mask, gloves and apron between every client.

  • Only one guest in the room at a time. That means you CANNOT bring your children, unless the appointment is for them. In that case, only one adult and one child are allowed. 

  • No pets allowed.

  • I will be thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing the room and all tools before the day starts, between each client, at the end of the day, and then again at the start of the following day.

  • I am Barbicide Covid-19 level 2 certified. What that means is that I have been trained and retrained on all the current safety protocols around cleaning and sanitation, specifically pertaining to Covid-19.

  • Preferred payment is credit card. There will be no cash on premises to make change. You can Venmo me at Renee-Koczkodan if you would like to tip me as if it were cash.

  • I need to invest in PPE and sanitizing supplies to ensure everybody's health, including yours. Because of this extra cost, there will be a $10 temporary Covid surcharge on all services.

  • I am adding time between each appointment to thoroughly sanitize my area so that the next client is in a safe environment. Because of this, I am implementing a slight price increase. It will be $10-$15 depending on the service.

  • I am asking that you come with your hair washed within the last 24 hours and not have any product in it. This will help minimize the amount of time that we need to be in close proximity. I can wet your hair at the sink, but prefer to not have to shampoo you at this time. Again this is for both of our safety and is temporary. I WILL be shampooing out color.

  • Because I am concerned about blowdrying spreading the virus, I will not be blowdrying temporarily. 

  • Consider breaking up your color and cut appointments. The virus is more likely to spread the longer we are together in the room. I will leave this up to your discretion.

  • Only bring what you need into the building to minimize cross contamination. No Jackets, bags or purses please.

  • I am not allowed to serve beverages or provide magazines.

  • All capes, towels and smocks will be laundered after each use.

Hours of Operation Have Changed

I am adding days and hours and am trying my best to fit you all in. Please be patient. I have to spread out my appointments to reduce the amount of clients in the salon at one time and to allow for time to clean and disinfect properly between clients. 

Because my hours have changed and the new requirement to leave 15 minutes between each client, all previously booked appointments have been or will be cancelled. You can only book one appointment out, and I encourage you to do so. The 10% off discount program is discontinued until further notice.


PHEW! That is A LOT to take in, I know. 
All of this is subject to change based on how things go with the initial roll out. I am hopeful that things will go well. 

My plan is to open the third week of June.

I will start to reschedule people beginning on Tuesday June 16th.PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL TO LET ME KNOW WHAT SERVICES YOU NEED AND WHAT YOUR AVAILABILITY IS. Tyson and I will do our very best to accommodate everyone the best that we can. At this time, I will not be able to make any big changes to your color. I am focusing on touch ups only.

Please know that I miss you all and am eager to get back to making you guys look and feel great. I appreciate your patience more than I can express in words.

In response to people's concerns and desire to help, there is a NEW, simpler way to purchase gift cards through my booking site.  Go to my website, click on the "Book a hair appointment" button.  This will reroute you to my GlossGenius booking site.  Navigate to the about section (click on the three bars on the top left corner of the booking site) click the "New! Gift cards available here" text. Follow the prompts.  I will keep a record of your purchases in the notes section of your account in my system.  You can also still purchase gift cards the old way.
